Demand Planner

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the planning and purchasing of products across suppliers in line with the supply chain team objective. Working to achieve KPI’s and proactively looking at ways in which to improving the supply chain efficiencies.



Main Duties

  • Optimise stock ordering in line with budgets, to minimise out of stocks and overstocks whilst maintaining fill rate & stock turn in line with team objective and company KPI’s

  • Take ownership of a set SKU profile; use external software to forecast stock requirements and prevent any ongoing supply issues

  • Analyse sales data to identify trends and changes in the usual demand profiles

  • Drive improvement in forecast accuracy

  • Manage supplier relationships, measure their performance and report accordingly

  • Monitor, investigate and resolve adjustments and reconciliations

  • Manage incoming enquiries related to stock availability and work cross-functionally to assist with providing an exceptional customer experience to all internal customers

  • Work closely with sales, commercial and marketing to identify stock for promotion

  • Maintain excellent communication skills with suppliers and other teams inside the business

  • Use initiative to actively resolve underlying issues and seek to change current processes

  • Drive improvement in forecast accuracy

  • Provide cover for holidays and sickness for the other team members

  • Ensuring correctness and integrity of system data applicable to the supply chain function

  • To perform other tasks as and when required to do so

Skill and Experience

Experience in a Demand Planning or Purchasing role desirable

Demonstrate an excellent numeric ability

Proactive, 'can do' attitude

Demonstrate excellent written and communication skills

Previous experience with data analysis

An experienced user of Microsoft Excel

Provide excellent attention to detail
